Location: Relocation required to the Pacific Northwest

Summary of Duties
A well-established Part 135 aviation operator is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Maintenance (DOM) to lead its aircraft maintenance and inspection program. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities, ensuring strict regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of airworthiness across the company’s fleet. This is a key leadership position that reports directly to the Director of Operations and plays a vital role in sustaining the organization’s operational excellence, reliability, and safety culture.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and oversight for all aircraft maintenance activities, including scheduled and
unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications.
• Ensure all maintenance personnel are properly trained, certified, and current in accordance with
FAA regulations and company standards.
• Maintain all aircraft in a continuous state of airworthiness, ensuring inspections, repairs, and
component replacements are performed in accordance with manufacturer data or FAAapproved procedures.
• Ensure strict compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Airworthiness
Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Service Letters (SLs), and company maintenance
manuals.
• Manage and maintain aircraft records, digital maintenance tracking systems, MEL management,
and compliance documentation with precision and accountability.
• Coordinate closely with flight operations leadership to align maintenance scheduling with
operational demands and aircraft readiness.
• Serve as the primary liaison with FAA inspectors, manufacturers, parts vendors, and third-party
maintenance providers, ensuring timely communication and regulatory conformity.
• Responsible for the hiring, supervision, and, when necessary, termination of maintenance
personnel to ensure optimal team performance.
• Demonstrate strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word, aircraft
technical publications, maintenance tracking software, and the interpretation of FAA regulatory
documents.
• Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability, while maintaining budget awareness
and a solution-oriented mindset to address maintenance or management challenges
proactively.
• Safely operate all company vehicles, service trucks, and ground support equipment, adhering to
all legal and industry standards.
• Perform effectively under pressure, maintaining composure and professionalism in dynamic
operational environments.

The successful candidate will bring a proven understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
principles, applying these process-improvement methodologies within an aviation maintenance

environment. This includes optimizing workflows, reducing downtime, improving parts and labor
utilization, and strengthening overall reliability.

A Lean-driven culture emphasizes accountability, communication, and continuous improvement—values
that are essential to maintaining safety, compliance, and efficiency in aircraft maintenance. The Director
of Maintenance is expected to lead by example, encouraging a data-driven, proactive approach to
identifying inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions, and promoting measurable, sustainable
improvements across the maintenance organization.

Required Qualifications
• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License with Inspection Authorization (IA)
• Must meet FAA 14 CFR 119.71 Director of Maintenance qualification for a Part 135 operation
• Extensive maintenance experience with MD Series, BHT-407 and BHT-205, 212, 412 aircraft
• 3 of the past 6 years working on helicopters under Part 135 or Part 145
• Documented experience in Part 135 and/or 145 operations
• Experience with approving and returning aircraft to service
• Experience with developing FAA required manuals, policies and procedures
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements and current DOT FMCSA Medical
Examiner’s Certificate
• Must pass DOT drug screening and meet physical requirements (lifting up to 75 lbs).
• Manufacturer or equivalent training on listed aircraft (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance or related field (preferred)

Status: W-2 (Exempt), Full-Time
Annual Salary: $140,000.00 DOE

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Field work & travel will be required at times.
